Getting the Perkins Perama Engine onboard!. Since purchased new in 1992, the engine has been in the living room at home, it certainly has been a talking point over the years. It had to be wheeled out of the house, pushed & shoved up a ramp into the van, and taken down to the shed where the boat was, and with a team effort and inspiration, loaded on oard Bear in mind the engine had to be lifted a good 10ft...

Engine beds ready, and using an old childs swing A frame and scaffold poles etc, the gantry with block and tackle all set up.

.

Using a fork life, unloaded the engine out of the van, and onto an old door layed on tressles

Next to see how many pallets needed on fork lift, to allow engine to be lifted to the height of the gantry platform.

Huge step forward to get the engine up and onto the gantry platform. Now to slide into position for the block & tackle to lower the engine through the companionway, and lower down onto the engine beds.

.

.

The Engine is in! Huge relief and great team work. Now the woodwork surrounding the engine area can be progressed, along with the companionway steps above the engine.
