Polish Yachts

We are now embraced in the upkeep and enhancement of Emerald.H.D, whilst thoroughly enjoying sailing her, including fishing as well. We are living our dream.

2017..... Three years since 'Emerald.H.D. was launched, how time has flown.. Lots of photos and updates to the website. Summer 2017 saw the Kings Ametyst 'Endora' moored directly behind 'Emerald.H.D.'... A historic moment given how far and wide around the world these Polish Yachts are.

By the end of 2013 work on Emerald.H.D has progressed very well to a point that all being well she will be launched in 2014. Also a match had been made in heaven when the remaining crew member, Ruth, met Garry a bespoke carpenter/joiner. Love blossomed, both having an interest in woodwork, and boat-building and sailing soon to be common interests too.

After finally managing to get 'Emerald.H.D' back undercover during 2006, and the project was making positive headway,  it was tragic that the Captain/Boat Builder/Master Carpenter, Lance, passed away following a hereditary illness. Sadness still overshadows the project, it was such a great loss to the project, but the remaining crew member was determined to complete 'Emerald.H.D', launch her and dedicate 'Emerald.H.D' in memory of the Captain.

Emerald.H.D is a fibreglass hull sloop, with wooden Deck and Cabins. The hull was made in Gdansk, Poland in the early 1970s. She was classed as a Szmaragd II and is 30' in length. She is now classed as make/model Alancia E1. The hull had never been afloat. We took over the project in 1992. Most of the deck beams, and the cabin sides, were in place at the time. Since then a lot of hard work had been put into the project, and a lot more hard work was needed. We kept a diary of the project over the years. Extracts of the diary can be found in the Diary pages. We recorded all the frustrations and joys of building our own yacht. We kept video and photo records, snapshots can be found in the Photo Album, and the Diary Pages.

Peppy, and Jess, were our Yacht cats. Watch out for them as you look around our Web site.
